A crypto miner, also known as a cryptocurrency miner, is a person or entity that uses powerful computer systems to solve complex mathematical equations in order to validate transactions on a blockchain network. This process of solving mathematical problems is known as mining, and those who engage in it are referred to as miners.
In exchange for their efforts, miners are rewarded with newly minted cryptocurrency coins, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, as well as transaction fees. Cryptocurrency mining requires significant computational power and electricity consumption, and therefore requires specialized hardware and software.
